The top three male and female triathletes and duathletes in each age group will also win special awards.


Scoring System

For each DQ Events Triathlon and Duathlon (Splash and Dash races are excluded from this series), points will be award to overall and age group winners. Participants must be USAT members to be eligible for this series.

Points for the series will be tallied after each race and the leaders will be posted on the Grand Prix "Rank Bank" section of our website. If an athlete enters both triathlons and duathlons during the season, points will accrue separately in each category. After the last race of the season, the prizes will be awarded to the three male and female triathletes and duathletes who have earned the highest total. Age group winners will receive awards for the highest total in each age group.There is no duplication of awards. Overall winners are ineligible for age group awards.

 

FAQ

1. Can an competitor accumulate both overall and age group points in an event? (i.e. 3rd overall & age group winner)
No if they are in the top 3 overall they just get those points and don't win their age group
2. Are overall totals a combination of overall points + age group points or are they maintained
separately?
They are the maintained the same, if you are 3rd overall in one race you get 4 points and if you are first in age group the next race you get 3 points for a total of 7 points.
